Sure, a competent player can hold their own, but there’s no option for a Battlefield player to heal, revive, rearm, destroy vehicles, and track enemy movements (via gadgets) in a single class. By contrast, while Battlefield can be rewarding for lone-wolf players, it’s purpose built to force the individual player to rely on teammates. The marketing surrounding the game has included the oft-quoted, “Star Wars Battlefront lets you live out your Star Wars battle fantasies.” This idea is actually reflected in terms of the game design, in that while still a team game, there’s a greater emphasis on individual player satisfaction. This explanation, coupled with what’s been shown to date, leaves little room for Battlefront to be Battlefield: Star Wars. While certain generic shooter skills will certainly be transferrable, DICE has been clear about Battlefront being a combination of the similarly named games that came before, and its own take on the franchise. ![]() ![]() Single player multiplayerBelieving that Battlefront will be Battlefield in space is the wrong assumption to make.
